Micro-needling (Derma roll)
Micro-needling is designed to treat acne scars, hyper pigmentation, burn scars and aged skin.
The treatment works by using micro needles to puncture the skin; this allows for the skin to start the healing process by producing collagen which makes the skin look plump and enhances the blood supply.

What is the recovery time?
The recovery time depends on the depth of the micro-needles and the sensitivity of your skin. The inflammatory response for a depth of 1.5mm usually lasts for 2-3 days whilst a depth of 3mm lasts for up to 3 weeks due to the possibility of scabbing.
Many patients report that their skin post-treatment feels similar to mild sunburn and you should avoid unnecessarily touching or picking at the skin.
Some sun sensitivity has been reported so we therefore recommend that you apply sun lotion to the skin on a daily basis, this prevents the risk of hyper-pigmentation. Our professional experts also recommend that you avoid any treatments involving heat or vigorous exercise for at least one week post treatment.

How many appointments will I need?
Micro-needling treatment requires 2-3 sessions with 4-6 weeks in between each appointment to allow the skin time to heal.
Each session involves arriving at the clinic and having an anaesthetic cream applied to the area of the skin being treated for 45 minutes; this will allow you to be a lot more comfortable during the treatment.
The Micro-needling treatment lasts for approximately half an hour.
